So "What's a Dossier??"

This photo shows our "book" of 5 months worth of paperwork accumulation which officially makes up our "Dossier."

So, "What's a Dossier?" It's a compilation of all adoption related documents required by the Chinese government as explained in the Adoption Law of PR China. The China Center of Adoption Affairs, the highest Chinese official agency responsible for processing and screening for our adoption qualification, will determine our qualification based upon our dossier. Our documents included in the Dossier are:

1. Adoption Petition
2. Birth Certificates (for both of us)
3. Marriage Certificates (for both of us)
4. Job Verifications (for both of us)
5. A Financial Statement
6. Physical Examination Reports (for both of us)
7. Police Clearance Reports (for both of us)
8. 1-171H Immigration Favorable Determination
9. Passport Copies
10. Eight family life, three couple photos and seven passport photos each
11. Our Home Study

The above documention is notarized, certified by the Secretary of State, authenticated by The Chinese Consulate, translated into Chinese, and then mailed to China as a complete "Dossier." Once "logged in," the "Clock Starts" ticking until the day we receive our "Match" - our Hailey.
