For those that are asking, we still have no "new news." We just know that we are told we will get our "match" 14 to 17 months after our Log In Date. That means from now, we have another 5 to 8 months left of our never ending wait! (so they tell us!) Can we say that we're "officially pregnant??!!" Ha-Ha! Unfortunately, our I-171H and finger prints will expire since the time has been pushed so far back. That means more paperwork shuffeling and more money! Sigh!
We now have about 80 quilt pieces and Melanie's friend Lisa in California will soon start the large task of completing this for us! We are so very touched by all of you, from all over the country, and the world, that have sent us your special pieces and wishes! Again, from the bottom of our hearts, "Thank you!" This will truly be a very special piece that Hailey is sure to treasure forever!
We also wanted to thank Anna for being so great through this whole thing and giving us advice and encouragement that this truly "will happen!" Here's a recent picture taken of Anna and her now 3 year old daughter Mahriana when we met for coffee. It seems like yesterday that Anna and Mark just brought her home 2 years ago!
Anna also shared with us a poem regarding adoption called "Legacy of an Adopted Child." This is so special and we plan on framing it and putting it in Hailey's room. It is beautiful and touching. Thank you again, Anna! You are our light through this endless tunnel! - Melanie & Brent
